The winner of the March English Premier League’s African Player of the Month has been announced. Ivory Coast international winger, Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha was voted and named as the award winner, ahead of the other two shortlisted nominees - Leicester City teammates Nigerian Wilfired Ndidi and Algerian Riyadh Mahrez.

March was a very short month in the English Premier League but the three nominees made a huge impact on the resurgence of their respective clubs up the table.

Zaha won the popular vote just ahead of Ndidi, thus pushing Mahrez into third place.

The Crystal Palace speedster only became eligible for the award when he recently made the switch from England to pledge his international allegiance to Ivory Coast, in time for him to take part in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
